How do I see –I think the first thing that strikes me is the shape and then the light falling
on it -and how it defines it.  Even still life images I shot inside are lit by natural light.
I prefer natural light to using floods or strobes indoors.   Outside, if you are willing to wait, the quality and intensity of that light you need, will change as the day progresses.  Many of the images I shoot are in late afternoon where the light is hard and the shadows are well defined giving the subject shape.  Photography is light and you control it, either in the camera or in the darkroom.

Alfred Stieglitz equated seeing not simply with the act of looking, but more specifically with the act of experiencing
