In My Dreams (part2)

Photography is not just a means of recording the world around you - but it can be a tool for exploring and experimenting with different approaches to defining our imagination.  It opens your mind to a new way of thinking.
In August of 2016 post I presented a series of photographs I called "In my Dreams" -this post is a continuation of that project.  Most of these images are created from images made in antique shops and combined with other images to form dream like visions.
The object of this series is to give the viewer a feeling of being outside looking into a mind filled with strange and symbolic images. It is openness to inner thoughts -a sort of imaginary voyeurism.

Pepper Sculpture

I think most photographers have a challenge interpreting what they see before them -I think you have to be prepared to experiment in order to turn the ordinary into something visually interesting.

While slicing up a green pepper I became aware of the different textures and shapes as I continued dissecting it.  It became a new object with each slice, and that is when I reached for my camera.  I was no longer observing a vegetable -but a piece of organic sculpture.  It is a spark that hits you, and those creative juices just flow.
.
Is there art in chaos?  The slicing up of this green pepper is a case in point.   There is something alien about the inside of a pepper -but yet there is a beauty and mystery in the shapes created by its amputation.
