Foot Steps Across The Sky

When I look at the clouds moving across the sky, sometimes  they are moving slowly, and sometimes  quite dark and angrily.  To me, they look like stepping stones and I image myself walking across the sky being careful where I step.  Where my steps will take me I don’t know, because the clouds are moving fast.  Most of the clouds are dark but if I look closely I can see some light...and so I move across the sky toward the light keeping the darkness behind me.

All of the images were taken during the Monsoon Season in Tucson…they were shot using a Sony Alpha 7II camera.  I can be reached at nymacc@gmail.com for comments or questions.

My White Cow Boy Hat

On one of the two headboard posts on my bed-sits a white cowboy hat.  It was bought on a trip to Tucson almost 26 years ago.  It was only worn once while there and when I return to Philadelphia it was placed on a closet shelf and just about forgotten about.

Now living in Tucson, the hat sits on a bedroom bedpost and still I have not worn the hat (only for this blog image) since that first visit to Tucson.  While there is some nostalgia connected with the hat, I decided the other day to remove it from it’s bedpost and photograph it.   I have a habit of doing this with objects that I have collected that represent some personal place in my life.

So, what follows are my photographs using light, shape and a bit of surreal perspective on my white cowboy hat.

All the images where shot with a Sony Alpha 7AII using natural light.  I can be reached at nymacc@gmail.com.
