The Faces of Exit 270 Part 14

More faces Exit 270.  In this post I want to tell this story with a short photo essay -showing a sense of place and a feeling of what is happening.  It is a collection of memories packaged briefly within a series of images.  The following images are the Color Vibe happening in Tucson, Arizona.  Here I have tried to give you a feeling of the event in a series of images starting from the beginning to a final end photograph.  As a photographer this requires you to move and shoot quickly because the story is constantly changing and evolving.   

The Devil's Leaf

I find that when I really look at something for a length of time the more my imagination churns.  I really make images for myself- you might say I am photographically self-centered.  These dead leaves from the pathos plant is a case in point -the more I observed these dead leaves and the early morning sunlight falling on them -the more images seemed to be conjured up in my mind.  Sometimes it is the small things that can stimulate your visual senses.

The Apple

This is my series of photographs of apples.  I don’t think there is anything more I can say about this group of images –except they were all shot using only indirect light from a kitchen window.

Into The Light

The Greek roots of the word Photography is photos (light) -graphe (draw or write) -in other words photography is drawing with light.   A photographer is really capturing the light and creating a mood that is created by the quality of the light. 

One of the main ingredients in my photographs beside the subject is the light.  Many of my images are made with the light coming from behind my subject.  As a photographer I want you to see my subject from my point of view and light is an important tool to do this.  You might say I am designing my image with light.
