On
one of the two headboard posts on my bed-sits a white cowboy hat. It was bought on a trip to Tucson almost 26
years ago. It was only worn once while
there and when I return to Philadelphia it was placed on a closet shelf and
just about forgotten about.
Now
living in Tucson, the hat sits on a bedroom bedpost and still I have not worn
the hat (only for this blog image) since that first visit to Tucson. While there is some nostalgia connected with
the hat, I decided the other day to remove it from it’s bedpost and photograph
it. I have a habit of doing this with
objects that I have collected that represent some personal place in my life.
So,
what follows are my photographs using light, shape and a bit of surreal
perspective on my white cowboy hat.
All the images where shot with a
Sony Alpha 7AII using natural light. I
